People keep telling me "use github!" or "Use iCloud sync". If Obsidian Sync was free or much cheaper ($1 a month), I would probably muddle through and use Obsidian but $8 a month for that app is highway robbery. These archives use AES 256 and have 60 char passwords as well. My workaround is to use encrypted 7Zip files to store very sensitive stuff. I don't know if this is ever coming to UpNote.

I use a 60 character randomized password but even so, if a bad actor finds my PW, all my data is compromised It's also cross-platformer (Electron) but feels buttery smooth!Īttachment sync support - right now if you make changes in an attachment, those changes do not sync and all the changes are made locally which is very very dangerous for data loss.Īttachments have a 20MB limit :( If you've got a large PDF, you can use PDF Squeezer (Mac) or equivalent to make it smallerĢFA is an absolute must. I agree I am worried about long term usage as well but for now it's saving me the $8 a month for Obsidian whose interface I find is inferior to UpNote. I dumped EN a long, long time ago and then went to manual files in iCloud drive which royally sucked for note taking.įound UpNote and for $20 lifetime found it to be a very good deal. I found another note-taking app that is called UpNote, which seems very good and satisfy my needs, but it is so new that I am not sure if I can rely on it just yet.Ĭould you please let me know if you have a similar experience with Evernote and what did you do with it? I want it to be simple and modern-looking. I am looking for a fast and reliable note-taking app where I can write every-day notes and sometimes longer articles. I put my hands on OneNote, and it works pretty fast, but it seems so extra for what I actually need: Is it a problem only with a free version, or premium is just as slow? It takes a lot of time to load on Windows, Android and iOS devices. I made Evernote open up as soon as my Windows system starts, so it would be faster when I actually need to use it, but in fact it does not help it. I believe that one of the main things that bothers me is the speed of the app on any platform.

I have been trying to find a better alternative, but most of them do not look nice or a bit too extra for my needs. Every now and then I get very annoyed with it, but never figure out what is bothering me exactly. I have been using Evernote free for around 4 years now.
